On June 24, 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes struck northern Venezuela, taking the lives of 589 people and injuring more than 3,000. The back-to-back quakes have crippled the already weak local infrastructure—including the international airport and major highways—making it difficult for response teams to help.
ReachGlobal Crisis Response, in partnership with the Latin America and Caribbean Division, is connecting with local leaders to identify immediate needs and ministry opportunities.
For decades, EFCA ReachGlobal and EFCA churches have sent missionaries to Venezuela to invest in disciplemakers to establish the Church where the gospel isn’t known. Through these ministry efforts, we partnered with local leaders to establish the Evangelical Free Church of Venezuela. We share common roots, values and ministry philosophy.
Several EFCV churches are located in regions affected by the earthquakes. ReachGlobal Crisis Response is committed to providing practical help and the hope of the gospel to these churches and communities.
