On March 28, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake hit near Mandalay, Myanmar. The earthquake has devastated the region, collapsing buildings and causing thousands of deaths.

To respond, ReachGlobal Crisis Response and GlobalFingerprints are partnering with ReachGlobal's Asia division as well as local churches and church planting networks inside Myanmar. One of our church planting partners was in Mandalay hours before the earthquake and returned to the city with food and relief supplies. He reported that people are sleeping outside, hospitals are overwhelmed, and many people are frightened. This earthquake highlights the opportunity and need for the hope of the gospel.

We are working with these networks to begin a long-term response that will meet spiritual, emotional and physical needs, and we need your help.

Pray

  • For wisdom and discernment as we communicate with ministry partners in Myanmar and develop long-term response plans.
  • For local churches in the impacted region to be sources of help and hope.
  • For the children in the region to receive the spiritual, emotional and physical care they need.
