Severe flooding in March and April devastated communities on Oahu’s North Shore. After days of heavy rain, hundreds of families are now facing significant loss and a long road as they return to normal.
ReachGlobal Crisis Response is partnering with local EFCA leaders to bring help, hope and the gospel.
The Need
More than 400 homes were damaged and over one billion dollars in losses has been recorded. The hardest-hit areas include Waialua, Haleiwa and surrounding farmland, which is critical to the local community.
Our Response
ReachGlobal Crisis Response is serving alongside the EFCA Hawaii District and Harbor North Shore (EFCA), as they extend tangible support to the community. Trust is essential in Hawaiian culture. Harbor North Shore has built that trust, creating a meaningful opportunity for the church to serve and share the gospel of Christ.
Together, our partnership to serve this community will support cleanup and rebuilding, assist homeowners and affected families, and equip the local church to serve both residents and recovery workers.
A Strategic Opportunity
Harbor North Shore is uniquely positioned for long-term ministry. Its pastor is a trusted local leader and a bivocational contractor, creating access to both homeowners and workers.
This opens doors for relationship-based ministry during rebuilding, discipleship among residents and construction crews, and an ongoing gospel presence in the community.
